Starbucker here with my latest report - I’m afraid I don’t know where Basil is right now. As you know we were in Boston for a couple of days, and Basil (and his driver and valet) really enjoyed the pleasures of Beantown. The last night we were there I decided to just stay at the hotel rather than paint the town. “Maybe we can just get room service and play some poker or something,” I said (I was very curious about the poker-playing abilities of a donkey).
Well, Basil would have none of this - “I want to go back to that Roxy place, they had great margaritas” Uh oh - those margaritas again. I said, “If that’s what you need to do, go ahead.” Big mistake. They left and I haven’t seen them since. Meantime, I had to come back to Connecticut.
I did get a phone call this morning though from the driver, who informed me that Basil was alive and well, but “currently indisposed”. Mmmm…… Before I could discern their location the line went dead (and there was no caller ID). I surely hope Basil returns today so I can send him (and the DVDs) on their way to Liz Strauss on schedule. If anyone who reads this sees him and his entourage, please let me know. Sorry Ben!

Hey Starbucker,
It sounds more like Basil Ditched You. You must have forgotten he is a Party Donkey, not just Code-Writing for him… Oh, Noooo…
Hey Ben,
Suggestion…
Try to make the navigation around here a little easier.
Maybe a link to the home page in the sidebar under Important Stuff, at the end of posts and pages (the list) etc,
Hitting the Back Button doesn’t work for everyone.
Joe
Do you suppose I’ll be able to convince Basil to join me at church when he’s comes down here to Savannah? It could be intersting, a Code-Writing-Party Donkey in church! I can’t wait to hear his take on the whole thing.
Joe — I’ve added the link. The graphics at the top also take you home for reference-sake.
Anything I can do to make the site easier to navigate and more effective…I’m all for it!
Chris — You might discover Basil has a spiritual side!!
Oh Starbucker!
How you must feel! I can understand completely. Keeping track of a codewriting donkey named, Basil, had me a bit worried already. I guess I’ll have to call in my brothers Angelo and Pasquale to make sure that Basil has “protection” while he’s here in Chicago. . . . That is, of course, if he ever shows up.
Liz - Basil will show up! He’s always wanted to get a fancy pinstripe suit in the old Chicago mob style. And he promised me he wouldn’t miss a visit. Basil’s a bit of a drinker (amongst other things) but he’s not a liar…at least not a good one.
With all his drinking and carousing sounds like I should be booking Basil into a detox facility here in Australia - fresh air, sunshine and some time with the native habitat. Oh wait, it will be Spring here but then and we know where a young Donkey’s fancy turns to in Spring …. oh no!
Leah, Have you ever seen a “happy” donkey? It truely is a sight to behold…
Yes and I don’t think you would want to take a happy Donkey to church in Savannah
Leah, all I can say is keep Basil busy and distracted. I’d rather he (well, me in fact, since he doesn’t have any money) not have childcare payments to make over there…raising donkeys can be expensive!
