Belgium Braces for Basil. Philippe Borremans Joins the List!

Connecting online works. It just does.

Bill Austin joined the list a few weeks ago. He introduced me to a group called LinkedIn Bloggers which is for bloggers with LinkedIn profiles, finding ways to improve and connect blogging and LinkedIn.

I joined LinkedIn Bloggers and my introductory post resulted in Philippe Borremans joining the list!

Philippe hails from Bellingen, Belgium. I couldn’t find a website for Bellingen specifically - when you search for “Bellingen, Belgium” on Google, the bulk of the results are about Philippe. So he must be famous over there! Cool.

That’s the Brussels Flower Carpet in case you were wondering.

Philippe has a great blog called Conversation Blog. Succinct. To the point. Extremely relevant. And that’s just in reference to the title! Philippe’s a PR guru and avid blogger; Conversation Blog is about learning to communicate online.

Now let’s get serious for a moment, please. We all know Basil likes a drink or two, and if Belgium’s known for one thing it’s beer. (I know there’s more to Belgium than that, but you have to admit, beer is big.) Here’s a Multi Media Guide to Belgian Beer.

Basil’s going to really really really enjoy his time in Belgium. There can be no doubt about that!

Philippe — thank you for being a part of this, and best of luck to you when Basil shows up at your doorstep, lagers in tow.

And for those who are wondering…. The best Belgian Beer in the world is Geuze ! Basil is sooo lucky, as it happens, the region I live in, called Pajottenland, is the only region in Belgium where you can have authentic and traditional Geuze beer. Will keep you updated !

  2. Ben Says:

    Basil IS LUCKY!

So while I’m at home working away doing my job and his, he’ll be in Belgium enjoying Geuze by the keg-full. I’m not jealous…no…not at all…

    *sigh*

  3. Philippe Borremans Says:

Well Ben, that where Belgians are like French and their wine; we have a specific glass for each kind of beer and definitely do not drink beer out of kegs (unless the beer requires it).
Re: you working and Basil being on holiday… Why don’t you start “whereisben.com” ;-)

  4. Ben Says:

Hey Phil — starting “whereisben.com” sounds like a great idea, but it would just be about me in the office, at home and in the parks with my son. Not exactly enthralling as a travel blog! *laugh*

  5. Ben Says:

Oh! And please educate Basil on using the proper glasses. Most of the time he drinks things out of puddles and troughs, not classy at all.
