Basil Wins Big in the Bahamas!

Well it looks like Lady Luck was shining on Basil last night. Seems he made his way over to the Wyndham Nassau Resort & Crystal Palace Casino last night after hooking up with some “celebrities.” He wouldn’t name names…said it was “unethical” and against the “celebrity code.” Ok…

I asked him if it was Brad Garrett from Everyone Loves Raymond because I saw him at a casino once in Vegas, so I figured I might as well pry and make strange leaps of faith. Basil stammered a bit on the phone and then said, “No. Stop asking so many questions.”
I don’t really care cause it turns out Basil won money! Now some of you might ask why Basil would divulge that information cause he seems a bit shady; but in fact the donkey is honest (most of the time.) He’s more confused than anything (just don’t tell him I said that.)

So it turns out Basil won about $800 at roulette. Neither of us is retiring just yet, and it hardly makes up for the money he’s spending but it doesn’t hurt, and it bodes well for the rest of his trip.

But, of course, Basil’s Bahamian Adventure didn’t stop there. After winning big, Basil ventured to the Blue Note Lounge where he danced up a storm to some jazz beats for a couple of hours.

Once Basil was finished partying at Blue Note Lounge he told me the rest of the night was uneventful. I have a hard time believing him. I could still hear “hootin’ and hollerin’” in the morning when he called…and when you’ve got “hootin’ and hollerin’” you know you’ve got trouble. At least where Basil’s concerned.

Basil told me that he had a fairly quiet morning ahead of him before getting on a plane to Phoenix, Arizona to meet up with Eason Ellsworth in Mesa, AZ.

Basil mentioned something about a Bacardi Distillery but then the phone started crackling. I suspect it was Basil making crackling noises…right before he hung up.

Ah well. Basil’s not allowed to have rum here in Montreal (the smell makes me ill; ask me if you’d like…) so if he wants to have a few drinks before getting on the plane, so be it. Let’s hope he’s got some of those winnings left by the time he gets to Arizona.

Easton…he’s all yours. Good luck!
