Bill and Kathee Austin are busy people, but they did manage to get Basil out the door and on his way to Los Angeles, where he’s intending to catch a flight to Arncliffe, Australia to meet with Leah Maclean.

Bill did let me know that he tried to teach Basil how to play guitar, before the donkey headed out of Scottsdale.

Apparently Basil wasn’t too bad, although he had trouble with the bar chords.

Bill also took Basil to the Phoenix Guitar Company in Scottsdale Airpark where he took a guitar making class.

I haven’t heard from Basil yet in terms of his traveling plans to Australia, but I’m sure that I will within the next day or so.

Bill and Kathee were very generous with their time and their care for Basil. I know he had a great time, and in the package of DVDs they also included a couple small gifts. The first was a Phoenix Guitar Company Key Chain which is a pick holder with a couple of picks inside, in case Basil wants to keep playing (which I hope he does!) The second is a price sheet from the Golden Door Spa at the Boulders Resort. Sounds like there’s a story behind that one, since that’s where Kathee and Bill stayed on their honeymoon. I have a feeling Basil had a spa there, but no one’s telling me anything…why am I not surprised?!?
