On September 11th, Basil flew from Phoenix, Arizona to Los Angeles, California in order to catch a flight to Australia where he’s headed to meet Leah Maclean.
First, let me thank Bill and Kathee Austin for their hospitality. Sounds like Basil had an amazing time soaking up the sun, learning to play guitar and frolicking with the Austin family.
Now, as far as I know, Basil’s in Los Angeles at the airport (LAX). It looks like his flight leaves this evening, but I’ve asked him to hang out there anyway, catch up on some reading and do a bit of work for me remotely (Hey! He can’t have all the fun right?)
Basil’s picked up a couple books about Australia, to catch up on his meager knowledge of the place. He knew they had kangaroos and koalas, but sadly, that’s about it. So, Basil will need a wee bit of education.

In terms of work, who knows what he’ll accomplish at the airport. But, we’ve got some interesting plans for IGotNewsForYou including a premium service with photo upload and story editing. So stay tuned!
In the meantime, I hope Basil makes it safely to Australia and doesn’t cause too much of a ruckus. When I spoke to him briefly he said, “I can’t wait to learn how to throw a boomerang. And meet Crocodile Dundee.”
Right, Basil. Good luck to you.

Enjoy the land down under, Basil!

Down Under Easton? You obviously have not heard of “McArthur’s Universal Corrective Map of the World”. Many of us here believe that Australia, New Zealand and neighbours are actually up-over. Have a look at http://www.odt.org/NewMaps.htm#Mcarthur
