Basil arrived on-time as planned from Australia. Thanks to Leah’s friend and next door neighbor, Basil was kept under control and the flight went smoothly.
I picked him up at the airport and brought him back home. He was pleased to be back after so much traveling…but that didn’t last. At 6am my son Sam woke up, and he’s got a hefty set of lungs. He was pleased to see Basil too…and the poor donkey couldn’t sleep through multiple body slams from the little guy.
So up we got and then Basil was hit with his second rude awakening for the day…work.
Yup, I put Basil to work today, getting him to do some long overdue coding for IGotNewsForYou.
He wasn’t particularly thrilled about that, but I think part of him liked the fact that he could get his hands dirty again with some code. So we’re at the office now, working away.
Basil took a bunch of pictures in the car ride to work, and we’re going out tonight to Reservoir, a pub in the Plateau area of Montreal. I’m looking forward to a couple of brews and some stories from the donkey.
You can expect some pictures tonight or tomorrow, and hopefully Basil and I can give you a little tour of our space in Montreal.

[...] First let me say this…there was a minor family emergency yesterday. Everyone is OK but Basil and I cancelled our plans to go to Reservoir and have some drinks. We were supposed to meet someone there; I’ve cancelled twice. Hopefully it happens next week! [...]
