Today was quite a hectic day. Over at Instigator Blog one of my posts was dugg to the front page and the last time I checked it received over 10,000 visitors. That sent Basil into a frenzy, particularly because things started to break down. The hosting people grumbled (but fixed some problems), and some fast tweaks had to be made to some PHP scripts to quell some of the errors that were floating around.
Still, we got things under control, and Basil still managed to get to the airport on time to catch his Air Canada flight to River John, Nova Scotia.
Basil should be arriving in Halifax later this evening and then driving north towards River John. I’m not quite sure how long it’s going to take, but I suspect Basil will rest somewhere along the way and find Derek Andrews in the morning tomorrow. Basil’s had a busy day, and he was very happy to get out from under my thumb and get back to the business of traveling and meeting people.
For those of you that don’t remember from my previous entry on Derek … he’s a woodturner, and you can read all about it at his website. It sounds like a ton of fun, and while Basil’s not the most crafty of donkeys, he’s willing to learn.
I’ve never been to Eastern Canada before, but I know it’s absolutely beautiful. I do plan to get out there one day…maybe I’ll visit Derek!
Derek — You should expect to see Basil sometime tomorrow morning. Please let us all know when he gets there! And feel free to keep him busy…he’ll benefit from a little physical labor and less nachos…
