Have you ever heard of Salgotarjan? Me neither, but it’s in Hungary and it’s where Petra Birkas lives.
Petra doesn’t have a blog (for shame!) but she’s an avid Fawlty Towers fan. She works in a bank, and she’s into bodybuilding. That’s an interesting hobby. Maybe she can work Basil into shape!
I’ve never been to Hungary, but now that Petra’s signed up to receive Basil and the Fawlty Towers DVDs I’m going to eventually have to make my way over there.
You should check out these pictures of Salgotarjan.
There’s plenty of information about Hungary online, including:
The history of Hungary fascinates me. Just reading the stuff on Wikipedia reminds me of the recent series of books I’ve finished reading from Jack Whyte. They’re historical fiction, focused on the rise and fall of Arthur Pendragon in Britain, but there’s storylines that involve Gaul (now: France) and areas east/northeast of that, including Hungary, Italy, etc.
I encourage you to check out Jack Whyte’s books
Petra will be receiving Basil after he’s visited Tammy Ames in Maine, so it’s going to be another long flight for the donkey. But I love the fact that Basil will get more international exposure. I hope more and more people from all over sign-up and join the community!
Thank you Petra. I know Basil is looking forward to visiting Hungary!
