Basil left Pictou this morning. I had hoped that he would be going by sail boat, but when we arrived at the marina there were none to be found, so Basil is travelling by motor boat instead.
After leaving Pictou harbour his route will take him around Cape George and through Canso Lock. This is part of the Canso Causeway which was built in the 1950’s to connect Cape Breton Island to the mainland. From there he will travel down the southern coast of Nova Scotia and on to the USA.
Bon voyage Basil, it’s been great meeting you. Have a great time in Philadelphia. If you have time, go check out The Wood Turning Center and tell them about your first experience with a lathe.
